Have we got an opportunity for you!!

It's your chance to become a community board member. We will have two positions up for election on January 16th - Vice President and Treasurer.

Some details:

  • It is a two-year commitment

  • The time commitment is about 5 hours a month, more or less depending on your availability.

  • We have one (very fun) board meeting a month, where we have dinner/drinks and talk about how to better our community.

  • We hope you'll want to assist at community events but as a team, we can cover each other, when needed.

  • The City of Charlotte holds a Neighborhood Board Retreat that we hope you can attend. We have found it really useful in the past.

  • Below are each role’s responsibilities, as listed in our bylaws.

Vice President

The Vice-President will work with the President to organize bi-monthly meetings of the membership and Board and the yearly meeting to review areas of improvement, areas of concern, etc.   In the event of a vacancy or absence of the President, all duties and powers are transferred to the Vice-President.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is entrusted with keeping accurate accounts, including the ability to show receipts, expenditures, and the financial condition of the SCO accounts at all times. Duties include keeping records of all monies collected. The Treasurer shall present a financial report at every member meeting.

Election night is January 16, 2024 at the Community meeting.

All voting members (dues paid for 2024) are eligible to vote.
